Waytronic has a big programmable sound chip family. They are generally used in applications that need to repeatedly change voice content, such as, home appliances that require voice prompts from multiple languages, advertising machines that frequently replace sound, and various voice prompt devices that require online update remotely.

Flash(Programmable) Sound Chips

We call the voice chip, which can be programmed multiple times, programmable sound chip.
They can work with one single IC, or add an external SPI flash like WT25Q32-8S to extend the voice duration. so that the maximum voice duration can be extended to 273 minutes (WT588F02A-16S + QT25Q128-8s under 8kHZ sample rate).
Besides large-capacity, another highlighted feature is that they can support customers to generate files that can be decoded by the voice chip through our online host computer software and download these files to Waytronic’s WT588 series.

  • Unlike traditional OTP voice chips, the biggest breakthrough is that customers can create audio and change the internal voice content of the chip themselves using an MCU or a compatible downloader through an upper-level system. Additionally, the Flash voice chip integrates various resources such as hardware SPI, UART, IIC, comparators, etc., allowing for the customization of various personalized functional products.

Frequently Asked Questions

The mainstream voice chips currently being played include the WTN6 series, WT588 series, WT2003H series, and WTV series.

BUSY is the output signal of the voice chip, used to indicate whether the chip is playing or not. Customers can determine whether to use the busy signal indicator based on their actual usage situation, and it can be connected or not.

The WT588F series is available, but the seamless loop audio capacity will slightly increase compared to the capacity required for regular audio, by 2-4 times.

WT588F02BP-14S/WTN6040FP-14S, These two are high-power voice chips mainly promoted by Waytronic, with built-in D-class audio power amplifier circuit, which can directly push 4 Euro 3W speakers.

Waytronic’s voice chips all support one line serial port control, which is a protocol developed by us for the interaction between voice chips and MCUs.

  • Waytronic has two voice chips specifically designed for wireless doorbells, one is WTN6040F and the other is WT588F02B, both of which support EV1527 recognition, allowing customers to reduce one MCU in their products.

Starting from the end of code transmission, if the chip is PWM, it takes about 20-30 ms, and if it is DAC, it takes about 60-70 ms. If external FLASH is involved, the time may be extended.

The DAC of WT588F02B is a software DAC output; The DAC of WT588F02A is a hardware DAC output.

Waytronic has 2Mbit, 4Mbit, and 8Mbit storage capacities, with different lengths depending on the storage format, bitrate, and other factors. Assuming 10Kbps, WT588F02B (2Mbit) can store for 170 seconds, then 4Mbit is twice as long as 2Mbit, and so on.
