TTS Functionality
- Text Input: Send Chinese/English text (GB2312) via UART – up to 2KB per command.
- Intelligent Processing: Automatically interprets numbers, dates, time, and units.
- Simple Commands: Single‑frame synthesis, stop, pause, resume, volume adjust, sleep, wake.
- Status Monitoring: Hardware BUSY pin or software query commands.
- Fixed Voice: Pre‑stored prompts (30s for T8, 500s for T3) can be triggered as normal audio.
- Playback Modes: Single track, loop, random, seamless loop, interrupt playback.
UART Protocol
Command Frame Format:
7E [Frame Length] [Sequence] [Ack Flag] [Source] [Commands...] [Checksum] EF
- Frame Length: 2 bytes (high‑byte first) – includes length field itself + sequence + ack + source + commands + checksum.
- Sequence: 1 byte, auto‑incremented to avoid duplicate frames.
- Ack Flag: Fixed 0x00 for commands.
- Source: 0x02 for TTS chip, 0x03 for MCU.
- Commands: One or more command blocks, each: 2‑byte command + 1‑byte data length + N‑byte data.
- Checksum: Low byte of the sum of length + sequence + ack + source + command bytes.
- End: 0xEF.
Default baud rate: 9600, 8N1. Full command list available in the datasheet.

FAQs
What is the WT3000TX?
A high‑performance TTS chip/module with 240MHz CPU, Chinese/English text synthesis, MP3/WAV playback, and UART control.
What languages are supported?
Chinese and English, with mixed‑language support (GB2312 encoding).
How much text can be sent per command?
Up to 2KB of text per command frame.
What is the standby current?
Less than 20µA in deep sleep mode.
Can it play MP3 files?
Yes, it supports MP3 and WAV playback at bitrates from 8 to 320 kbps.
What external Flash is supported?
Up to 128 Mbit SPI Flash, with built‑in interface.
What is the difference between T8 and T3 versions?
T8 supports Chinese/English letters (no speed/pitch tags) with 30s fixed voice; T3 supports full Chinese/English with pitch/speed tags and 500s fixed voice.
What is the module (M01) output?
It provides either DAC line‑out or PWM speaker output (SPK+/SPK‑) with onboard amplifier.
How do I check if the chip is busy?
Use the BUSY pin (low when busy) or send a status query command via UART.
Note: The chip requires external decoupling capacitors (1µF/10µF) on VCC, VOUT, VREG, VCM, and VMID. The SPI Flash pins are multiplexed with GPIO. For module use, connect 5V, GND, TX, RX, and speaker. The M01 module is pre‑flashed with the T8 firmware (Chinese/English letters). For custom firmware or T3 version, contact Waytronic. Refer to the datasheet for full command set and PCB layout guidelines.
