Overview

WT588F02A-16S is a newly developed 16-bit DSP voice chip by Guangzhou Waytronic Electronics Co., Ltd., featuring an internal oscillator of 32 MHz and 16-bit PWM decoding. Its powerful functions make WT588F02A-16S a leader in the voice chip industry. The chip comes with 2 Mbit of built-in storage space, leaving 200 K for storing fixed voice recordings or audio; if used solely for fixed voice storage, it can support up to 320 seconds of voice content; if used solely for recording, it can record approximately 135 seconds of voice content. It also supports external flash memory, up to 128 Mbit (note that the main control program differs between using external flash and not using it; please contact our sales representative before placing an order). The chip includes various hardware resources such as SPI, UART, IIC, and comparators, allowing customization of various personalized functional products for customers.

Note: The data above is manually measured from pure audio recordings and may contain errors, with an error margin not exceeding 2 seconds. Sampling has a greater impact on audio quality; therefore, for the same duration, prioritize configurations with higher sampling rates. Using 8K sampling can result in severe distortion, so it is recommended to start using from 12K onwards.

PB11I/OButton interface: when PB1 has a high level for 32 milliseconds, play the recording once; when PB1 maintains a high level for 1 second, loop play the recording. During the loop process, if the signal changes from low to high and maintains a high level for 1 second, stop the loop function and stop after playing the current recording. When using an external FLASH, connect to FLASH_DI.
PB02I/OPress button interface, record when PB0 is high, stop recording when PB0 is low or storage is full; connect FLASH_CLK when using external FLASH.

Chip application schematic diagram

1.Power supply and recording circuit (standard version)

Note:
1. When wiring, capacitors C1 and C5 should be placed as close as possible to the VPD and VCC pins of the WT588F02A-16S chip to enhance the anti-interference capability of the WT588F series voice chips.
2. When an external amplifier is used, R2 can separate the analog ground from the digital ground; if not needed, R2 does not need to be installed.
3. R3 serves as the MIC voltage bias resistor during recording, typically set at 2.2K to ensure the bias is half of the supply voltage, making the maximum dynamic range of the positive and negative signal boards equal. The resistance value of R3 can be appropriately increased to improve sensitivity.
4. When powered by 3.3V, R4 does not need to be installed; when powered by 5V, R4 can be selected based on the operating voltage of the MIC. R4 mainly provides voltage division for the voltage supplied by PC6 to the MIC. Generally, it is not installed, but when installed, both R3 and R4 need to be considered together to achieve optimal voltage division and balance point for the best recording dynamic range.
5. C3 can be chosen between 10~47uF to stabilize the power supply during recording.
