WTN6020/40/80/170-8S OTP Voice Chip

  • (1) Operating voltage: 2.4V to 5.2V;
  • (2) In standby mode, static current is less than 5uA (the DATA/CLK signal lines can remain at a stable level for about 2 seconds after voice playback completes before entering sleep mode);
  • (3) Precise internal oscillation of +/-1%, with low-voltage reset (LVR=2.0V);
  • (4) 12-bit PWM pure audio output, capable of directly driving an 8Ω/0.5W speaker and buzzer, with DAC audio output that can be connected to an external amplifier;
  • (5) Equipped with serial control modes: pulse, button, one-wire serial port, two-wire serial port (up to 224 segments of voice can be loaded, detailed explanation follows);
  • (6) Supports BUSY status output (in standard program, the BUSY pin defaults to high level when idle and low level during voice playback. Additionally, in serial control mode, the BUSY pin changes level only when the voice chip receives the correct voice address sequence).

WTN6 Series OTP Voice IC

The WTN6 series is a multifunctional, low-power, high-performance CMOS voice chip. Currently, there are four types of chips available: WTN6020, WTN6040, WTN6080, and WTN6170 (with voice lengths of 20 seconds, 40 seconds, 80 seconds, and 170 seconds respectively). These chips have already been launched in the market. The audio sampling rate can currently reach up to 32 kHz, with 16-level volume control and two audio output methods: PWM output and DAC output. It features precise internal oscillation of +/-1%, eliminating the need for external oscillation, and boasts ultra-low power consumption in standby mode.

Waytronic’s DACs are all simulated through software. The hardware of the WTN6 series with DAC refers to the built-in filtering circuit in the chip, which can be easily added to the fifth pin with a 102 capacitor to achieve a DAC like output.

When the PWM direct push horn outputs, the peak current is around 300mA, and during sleep, it is within 5uA.

WTN6 series or WT588F series single byte, usually 223 segments; The theoretical maximum support for WT588F double byte is 56799 segments, but the more segments there are, the lower the space utilization may be because addressing becomes very large.

If it is a PWM direct output circuit, confirm that the source audio itself has no noise, and check whether there is power interference or signals from other high-frequency components; If it is a DAC plus amplifier output current, mainly check the ripple of the power supply.

The sleep power consumption of the voice chip is below 5uA, and no sleep command is required. In the idle state of the chip, after the communication pin level stabilizes for 1 second, the chip automatically enters sleep mode.
