Overview
WTR096A-16S is a high-performance, high-quality voice chip with a maximum processing speed of 32 MHz. It features low cost, low power consumption, high reliability, and strong versatility. With superior audio quality, it can store up to 67 seconds of voice content (if audio quality is not a concern, it can store up to 135 seconds of voice content, calculated at a fixed sampling rate of 8K). A single chip can support recording from 22 to 90 seconds and supports external Flash memory. The chip includes an automatic gain control microphone input interface, supporting functions such as mixing, recording, or pitch-changing effects.
| Audio sampling rate | 8K | 12K | 16K |
| Total recording duration | 90s | 60s | 45s |

Voice Chip application schematic diagram
Power supply and recording circuit

Note:
1. When wiring, capacitors C5 and C6 should be as close as possible to the VDD of the WTR096A chip, while capacitor C3 should be as close as possible to the AVDD of the WTR096A chip. The traces from the grounds of capacitors C3, C5, and C6 to the ground of the WTR096A chip should be kept as short as possible to enhance the anti-interference capability of the WTR096A chip;
2. Use R7 to separate the analog ground and digital ground;
3. R5 serves as the bias resistor for the MIC voltage during recording, ensuring that the bias is at half the supply voltage, and that the maximum dynamic range of the positive and negative halves of the output signal are equal. The resistance value of R5 can be adjusted appropriately to regulate sensitivity;
4. When powered by 3.3V, R6 should not be installed; when powered by 5V, R6 can be selected based on the operating voltage of the MIC. R6 mainly provides voltage division for the voltage supplied to the MIC from MIC_BIAS. Generally, it is not installed, but when installed, consideration must be given to R5 to ensure that their combined voltage division reaches an equilibrium point, achieving the best recording dynamic range;
5. C8 can be chosen between 10~47uF to stabilize the power supply during recording.
External Flash circuit (choose when external Flash is required)

Note: When installing an external FLASH, it is necessary to provide 3.3V power supply for the FLASH. It is recommended that the voice chip also uses a 3.3V power supply. If the voice chip requires a 5V power supply, then R2, R3, R4, and R8 need to be replaced with 300Ω resistors.
